Day 1: Arrival – Ashgabat city tour

Arrival in Ashgabad, Turkmen capital. You will be met by our representatives and will be accommodated at Grand Turkmen Hotel.  We will begin city tour Ruhyyet Palace, Wedding Palace, modern “Yildyz” Hotel, Ferries Wheel, Constitution Monument, Arch of Neutrality, Monument and park of Independence, Ertogrul Gazy Mosque and other beauty sights of Ashgabat. You will be also taken to grandiose Square of Revival (Galkynysh) - a new administrative, business and cultural center of Ashgabat. Have a stroll along Ylham (Inspiration) Park. O.N in Ashgabat.

Day 2: Ashgabat - Mary – Merv - Mary
Early morning flight to Mary. Upon arrival from the airport leave to explore ruins of Ancient Merv. Merv was a major center of international trade and crafts located on the Silk Road. Discover historical park with Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum, Large and Small Gyz Gala, Erk Gala, Gyaur Gala, Keshk Fortresses and others. Return to Mary and visit History Museum of Merv region. O.N at hotel.

Day 3: Mary - Ashgabat - Darwaza Gas Crater

Morning flight Ashgabat. Upon arrival drive to visit "Altyn Asyr" Oriental Bazar- Jygyldyk located in 20km to the north of Ashgabat. It is one of the largest open bazaars in the world filled with colourful rugs, jewellery, carpets, silk and national Turkmen costumes and animals in other part. Lunch at local restaurant. Drive to Gas Crater (268km) dubbed by locals as "The Door to Hell". The Derweze area is rich in natural gas. Dinner at Gas Crater included Chichkebabs. Overnight in a camp.

Day 4: Gas Crater – Village in Garagum desert – Ashgabat - 270km

Picnic style breakfast. Drive back to Ashgabat through Garagum desert. The Garakum is a sand desert stretching for 350,000 km from the Caspian Sea to Pamir foothills and from Amu Darya to Kopet Dag ridge. Its name is translated as “black sand” (“kara” - black, “kum” - sand). Rest in village on the way. Visit Turkmen national yurt, taste national food like “Gowurdak” and drink from camel milk “Chal”. Follow our way to Ashgabat. Check in to the hotel. Free time. Overnight at Grand Turkmen Hotel.

 

Day 5: Ashgabat – Gokdepe horse farm and fortress – Ashgabat – 45km

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Gokdepe fortress and horse farm. Gokdepe fortress that was attacked in December 1880 by Russians under General Mikhail Skobelev. The siege of Gokdepe lasted twenty-three days, after which the city was taken by storm. Gokdepe Mosque was built to commemorate the defeat and is noted for its mint-turquoise blue colored roof and white marble structure. At the horse farm you can see proud of Turkmen national Akhalteke horses. Over the 30 beautiful horses, you can see at the horse farm. 5000 years ago, Turkmens begin breed Akhalteke horses. Unique breed on the world, that not mixed with other breeds. Different rulers as the Alexander Great, Darius the I wanted to own this horses. Then visit Turkmenbashy Ruhy Mosque in Kipchak (the largest mosque in Central Asia). 

Afternoon drive to visit Nissa fortress -the Sanctuary of Parthian Kings. The fortress was enrolled to UNESCO World Heritage list in 2007. Nissa described as one of the first capitals of the Parthians. It was founded by Arsaces I and was the royal necropolis of the Parthian Kings.

Overnight at Grand Turkmen Hotel.

Day 6: Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Farewell with tourists and transfer to the International airport of Ashgabat for flight to home.
