Itineraries

Day 1

Ashgabat

Arrival in Ashgabat International airport. You will be met by our representatives and transfer to hotel. Free time.

Day 2

Ashgabat - Darwaza

Bf at hotel. Walking tour around the hotel. You will visit Inspiration park, Gulistan (Russian) market, 10 Ahalteke horse monument. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon drive to Darwaza burning Gas Crater (268km) dubbed by locals as "The Door to Hell". The Darwaza area is rich in natural gas. While drilling in 1971, Soviet geologists tapped into a cavern filled with natural gas. The ground beneath the drilling rig collapsed, leaving a large hole with a diameter of 70 meters. To avoid poisonous gas discharge, it was decided the best solution was to burn it off. Geologists had hoped the fire would use all the fuel in a matter of days, but the gas is still burning today. En-route we cross Karakum desert, will make a stop in small desert village Erbent. In the evening watch the spectacular and fascinating view of the gas crater. BBQ dinner at Gas Crater. Overnight in camp.

Day 3

Darwaza – Damla – Nepes Guyi – Dam dam

Breakfast and leave to Damla and Nepes guyi and Dam dam and we stay there with Nomads meet there family, meet with Murshgar, a person who teaches falcons to hunt. Dinner in Yurt with traditional nomads dishes as “Ishlekli,, and Pumpkin with vegatables. Overnight in Yurt.

Day 4

Dam dam - South Merw

In the morning after breakfast we follow the hunters trapping rabbits with hunting dogs Tazy and Falcons. Lunch on the spot. Leave to the South Merw oases on the way stop at interesting places. Dinner and overnight in tents in the desert.

Day 5

South Merw – Ajy Guyi – Gonurdepe – Merw - Mary

After breakfast drive to visit Ajy Guyi archeological site, one of the ancient civilized part of the World. Its history begins with 24-25-th century B.C.E., where from 1996-2000, Italian archeologist , professor Gabriel Rossi Osmida excavated with his Team and opened ancient layers of civilization on the delta of the river Murgab. From that place we drive to South-East 30 km.to rich to Gonurdepe, the capital of mysterious country Margush 22-23-d century B.C.E. The total territory of Gonurdepe 20 hectares , NE part of it , there is the Complex of Communal eating, on the NW part there is the Temple of sacrificing, in the centre there is the Palace of Ruler, on the South Eastern corner there is the Royal necropolis and on the Western side there is Water Temple. Than drive to Mary, have lunch and accommodate at hotel. Afternoon visit Mary museum and Ancient Merw ruins. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight.

Day 6

Mary – Serhetabat - Badhyz Wild Nature Reserve

Early morning after breakfast drive to South direction to Serhetabat 310km on the way view beautiful landscape of the country. Lunch at the town and city tour visiting the big Cross erected by the Tsarist soldiers after the battle with British army who came from Afghanistan side in 1885, and there the Russians made the border line. Dinner. Overnight at Badhyz Wild Nature Reserve.

Day 7

Badhyz Wild Nature Reserve

BF. Then we will visit Badhyz Wild Nature Reserve and will meet with the staff, visit its Museum. Than drive to the territory of Nature Reserve with their escorting vehicle to see wild animals and Nature. Lunch. Dinner and overnight at Agarcheshme.

Day 8

Badhyz Wild Nature Reserve – Serahs - Ashgabat

Next morning drive to Serahs through the Pistachio forests. At Serahs we will visit the Mausoleum of Abul Fazl, lunch there. Keep driving to Ashgabat, dinner and overnight in Ashgabat.

Day 9

Departure

Morning flight home with good memory and feelings.
